The event took place Aug. 13 at Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg. PHILLIPS GROUP HONORED BY PENNSYLVANIA ARMY NATIONAL GUARDThe HQ 166th Regiment, Regional Training Institute, recently presented Phillips with a certificate of appreciation for excellence. Phillips has provided office supplies and office furniture to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for a number of years; the certificate recognizes the period since August 2007. "Your outstanding dedication and commitment to the mission of the 166th Regiment, RTI and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard demonstrates your patriotism, and reflects favorably upon your organization and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," read the certificate, signed by Col. Jeffery A. Jahnke, commander. PHILLIPS AWARDED FURNITURE CONTRACT FOR HARRISBURG UNIVERSITYThe Phillips Group has been awarded a contract to provide interior furnishings for Harrisburg University of Science and Technology's new Academic Center. The furniture will be used in classrooms, conference rooms, waiting areas, the library and other areas in the 16-story Academic Center, 326 Market St., Harrisburg. Harrisburg University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in applied science and technology fields. GOLF CLASSIC RAISES $61,505 FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATIONThe Phillips Group Golf Classic raised $61,505 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Central Pennsylvania Chapter. The amount included a $10,000 contribution from The Phillips Group, which has supported the event for the past decade and has been title sponsor for the past four years. Ninety-six golfers participated in the event, which took place Aug. 11 at Colonial Country Club in Harrisburg. Two Phillips employees have children with cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States.
