The Phillips Group Golf Classic will return on Aug. 11 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Central Pennsylvania Chapter.
The event will take place at Colonial Country Club, 4901 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Tournament registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon.
The Phillips Group, central Pennsylvania's leading independent office products company, is the title sponsor for the fourth straight year. The event last year raised nearly $60,000, almost twice the amount collected in 2006. This year's goal is $75,000. The event follows a four-person scramble format and also includes dinner, awards and a live auction. Auction items will include footballs signed by former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn and Penn State coach Joe Paterno, and a hockey stick signed by Washington Capital Alexander Ovechkin.
The fee is $250 per individual golfer; the registration deadline is Aug. 4. For more information, visit www.cff.org or call 717-671-4000.
Two Phillips employees have children with cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States.
